This map shows an overview of a few interesting projects worldwide. Whether or not a project is considered as ‘interesting’ for this page is based on the potential applicability for the case of Ship-Based Carbon Capture, Storage & Utilization.
CCS Norway: An enormous CCS project involving the Norwegian Government and large industries. Part of the supply chain of Northern Lights (part of this larger project) involves CO2 transportation via ship, which can be interesting for the case of Ship Based Carbon Capture Storage & Utilization.
Porthos Rotterdam: Initiative in the Port of Rotterdam to connect industrial Carbon Capture installations in the future via a pipeline to an offshore sequestration site. Having such an infrastructure in a port may also bring opportunities for the ship-based CCS case.
Alberta Carbon Trunk Line: An example of an application of CO2 for Enhanced Oil Recovery in Canada (onshore). Here CO2 is pumped in near-empty oil fields to force the remaining oil to the surface. Do you think the benefits of CO2 sequestration condone the activity of mining even more fossil fuel?
